As a friend, I relaxed my approach and skipped some of the early steps to get straight into the nitty gritty of assessment and program design, as time was of the essence – we only had 8 weeks to prepare. Mindset – See article “The Mental Approach For Successful Training” here
Before you spend all your hard earned cash, make sure you have the right mental approach, to ensure that you will follow through with it. There is nothing more cliché than buying a stationary bike to collect dust or a gym membership that never gets used. Studies have shown that up to 67% of gym memberships rarely get used at all. “Mental toughness is many things and rather difficult to explain. Its qualities are sacrifice and self-denial. Also, most importantly, it is combined with a perfectly disciplined will that refuses to give in. It’s a state of mind-you could call it character in action.” — Vince Lombardi
